Freya Painting practiced commercial and bankruptcy litigation before moving into the field of professional regulation and oversight at the College of Nurses of Ontario and the Ontario Ombudsman. She joined Lawler Advocacy in 2023.

Freya holds an LL.B. from the University of Toronto and an Honours BA in English and History from Western University She also earned a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from York University and has attended Leadership, Diversity and public administration courses.

Freya sits on the board of directors of the Summerville Family Health Team which provides her family with excellent care. She is also a member of the Community Services Committee of her local Rotary. She can often be found volunteering at events throughout her neighbourhood or walking her dog.
